Trivia Night with our Multicultural Taskforce

written by Tony PeterSmith, Director of Membership and Engagement and Multicultural Taskforce Committee Member

The Multicultural Taskforce proudly hosted its second annual Black History Month Community Social on Friday, February 20, at Briarwood Golf Club. The evening began with purposeful networking and connection, followed by five lively rounds of trivia featuring pop culture, entertainment, sports, history, and a new interactive audio round. Although winter weather posed a challenge, the strong turnout and vibrant atmosphere reflected the community’s enthusiasm and support.

“Tonight isn’t just about trivia — it’s about honoring the rich history, culture, achievements, and lasting impact of Black communities around the world,” shared Monica Goodlett, taskforce member and entrepreneur with G.G.’s Chicken & Waffles

Events like this underscore the vital role the Multicultural Taskforce plays within the Ankeny Area Chamber and throughout the greater Ankeny community. The taskforce is dedicated to expanding, empowering, and retaining Ankeny’s diverse and multicultural business community. Through educational programming, intentional networking, and inclusive community events, the group works to elevate local business owners and professionals while cultivating a sense of belonging and connection. These gatherings not only celebrate culture and history, but also create space for dialogue, collaboration, and relationship-building that strengthens our local economy and community fabric.

Those interested in getting involved with the Multicultural Taskforce are encouraged to contact info@ankeny.org. Meetings are typically held on the fourth Thursday of each month.
