Chamber Member Spotlight: Brian Herbel, Edward Jones
Celebrating 25 years as a chamber member.
Tell us about your business and how long you’ve been with Edward Jones.
I’ve been a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones since July 2000 and am proud to be celebrating 25 years of service. My focus areas include retirement income strategies, retirement savings, wealth strategies, estate and legacy planning, charitable giving, and intergenerational planning.
What I enjoy most is getting to know each client’s story. I’m dedicated to providing personalized, long-term financial guidance and building strategies that are tailored to each individual, helping them achieve better outcomes and greater confidence in their financial future.
How long have you been a chamber member and why did you decide to join?
I’ve been a Chamber member for 25 years. I joined right when I moved to Ankeny because I knew it would be a great way to stay connected and involved with people who care about building strong businesses and a strong community.
The Chamber aligns closely with my values of relationships, trust, and community engagement. A fun fact — I helped start Ankeny Young Professionals (AYP) and served as its first co-chair.
What is the Chamber’s most important role in the business community?
The Chamber’s most important role is bringing people together and fostering meaningful connections among local businesses. It provides networking opportunities, learning experiences, and collaborative spaces that strengthen the entire community. The Chamber is also a strong and trusted voice for the Ankeny business community.
How has the Chamber evolved, and how has Edward Jones benefited?
As Ankeny has grown, the Chamber has expanded its programs, strengthened communication, and increased collaboration across the business community. Edward Jones has benefited through greater visibility, meaningful partnerships, and deeper engagement with local residents and business owners.
What Chamber membership benefits do you find most valuable?
The genuine relationship-building opportunities are the most valuable to me. I’ve met people through the Chamber that I would not have met otherwise, and the connections are truly authentic. The Chamber also provides a supportive network that helps us better understand and serve the needs of the community, along with a strong sense of unity and shared purpose among local businesses.
What can people expect to see from Edward Jones in the near future?
People can expect a continued commitment to personalized, thoughtful financial guidance focused on retirement planning, education savings, and legacy goals. We will continue helping clients build confident, long-term strategies that reflect their values and priorities, along with ongoing enhancements to our financial planning tools so we can serve clients even more deeply.
