Small Business Resources
Existing Ankeny businesses, entrepreneurs and start-ups seeking a business mentor can find it at the Chamber through the Hub Committee. An experienced business leader will connect the client with an appropriate and experienced mentor. Once paired, mentors are available on a scheduled basis, and at no cost for an initial consultation. Mentor experiences range from marketing, legal, finance, and accounting to real estate, insurance, and more.
Ankeny Seed Capital
This group of qualified investors reviews business plans and listens to pitches from area entrepreneurs seeking equity investments in their business. They meet quarterly. Business Advisory Group
This group convenes as needed to assist business owners who are seeking help with business plans or financing. The group consists of experienced local professionals who provide honest, objective and confidential advice on the range of financing options available to business owners and different ways to structure businesses and financing. Ankeny is a Home Base Iowa Community. We have employers and businesses who are ready and able to welcome military personnel who are transitioning from active duty to civilian life.

IASourceLink is where business begins in Iowa. IASourceLink connects Iowa entrepreneurs to a network of 360+ nonprofit resource organizations that provide business-building services. We facilitate the linking of these resource organizations to one another and to established, emerging and start-up small businesses.
Small Business Development Center of Iowa
The Iowa Small Business Development Center (Iowa SBDC) provides no-cost business advice and resources when growing or starting a business in Iowa. The center is located in Des Moines and provides one-on-one no-fee, confidential counseling to existing business owners and would-be entrepreneurs in Dallas, Jasper, Marion, Polk and Warren counties, in addition to providing workshops and seminars.

The Ankeny Alliance is a partnership between the Ankeny Area Chamber of Commerce, Ankeny Economic Development Corporation, and City of Ankeny. This alliance ensures that all local economic development efforts are coordinated and aligned with one another to best serve the needs of small businesses in Ankeny. In addition to coordinated daily economic development efforts, the Alliance offers initiatives to assist and grow local business.
