Mentoring For Women 2025
written by Diane Weber, Director of Events and Communications, Ankeny Area Chamber of Commerce
Members of the Ankeny Chamber as well as local community members enjoyed another inspiring SOLD OUT Mentoring for Women event on April 1st! The morning started at The Elements at Prairie Trail with networking and a warm cup of coffee brought in from Cafe Diem. As the morning continued we moved to The District Venue for introductions and our roundtable discussions from 8 diverse local mentors – each from a different business industry and person background. These motivating mentors shared what obstacles and challenges they faced in their field of work and what success looked like to them.
A “Mentoring for Women Podcast” was also set up for attendees to “get out of their comfort zone” and share their journey one-on-one with our host and keynote speaker Ann Wright. Thank you to Amplified Studios for setting this up! After lunch, Ann Wright, who is a Leadership Coach, Facilitator, Speaker, and Author took the spotlight sharing her insights on goal setting and topics such as “What would your hero say?” Many of the women felt embowered in a different way, enjoyed the unique topics, and were able to relate to other’s experiences. This event really gives support and encouragement to women who are not only coming into the work force but those who are also looking to expand and make new connections. It was so great to see many familiar faces as well as new ones who seemed intrigued by the conversations and the more personal approach our chamber provides at this type of event.
Thank you to all the lovely ladies in attendance, our mentors, and to our sponsors! We can’t wait to host this event again next year.
