Ankeny’s annual SummerFest is a four-day celebration with carnival rides, parades, bands, family fun and more! Mark your calendars for Ankeny SummerFest 2020: Thursday, July 9 – Sunday, July 12th.

Ankeny SummerFest’s 2019 theme was Get Your Giddyup, and encouraged vendors, float and boat builders, and event attendees to lasso their favorite cowpoke or buckaroo and experience Ankeny SummerFest like never before. Kids and adults alike can all giddy-on-up and get a move on. From Mr. Ed to Toy Story, there is something for everyone of every age to enjoy. Get Your Giddyup is for the participant to interpret. Throw on your chaps, but steer clear of the cactus. And don’t forget the ten-gallon hat! The theme can mean something different to everyone.
Ankeny SummerFest Favorite Attractions
Apart from endless events throughout the weekend, attractions lasting for the duration of Ankeny SummerFest are a perfect way to spend the day in between parades, family fun time, boat regatta, and more.
Entertainment Garden
Thursday, July 9 –Sunday, July 12

The Ankeny Area Chamber Entertainment Garden is open each night of Ankeny SummerFest. Drink tickets can be purchased by cash only, an ATM is available on grounds. At the Entertainment Garden, festival-goers can expect music by local bands, friends, and fun every evening. Bring your lawn chair, grab a drink, and enjoy the opening and headlining shows each night.
Carnival

People of all ages can enjoy arcade games and rides all weekend long. Tickets are not available to purchase prior to hours of operation during Ankeny SummerFest weekend. All ticket prices are set by the carnival and vary by ride (cash only). Wristband specials are not sold in advance and are only available to purchase during certain hours of operation.
