One of the most exciting events for a business, whether new or existing, is celebrating a grand opening and/or ribbon cutting. Ambassadors and Chamber representatives will welcome your business with a special ribbon cutting ceremony. All Chamber members are invited to attend!

An experiential series of workshops designed for the leaders, learners, and doers in your organization.
The Annual Dinner is a social event you don’t want to miss! This event celebrates the Chamber’s past year and honors the Outstanding Citizen of the Year, Small Business Person of the Year, Ambassador of the Year, and Ankeny Young Professional of the Year. The new Chamber Board Chairman and Directors are introduced. The Annual Dinner is held in February.
Behind the Business Series
Every other month beginning in January
Get to know your fellow Chamber members and learn the inside scoop as we tour Ankeny’s 200+ employee member businesses. Hear from company execs and observe the daily grind at selected businesses.
February – April
Chamber members are invited to join our Iowa State Senator, Iowa State Representatives, and Polk County Supervisor in timely updates. Audience members will have an opportunity to ask questions to our elected officials. Legislative Updates are held one Friday per month at noon during the legislative session.
Mentoring for Women
The Ankeny Area Chamber collaborates with the Greater Des Moines Partnership for this event each April. The Partnership’s regional affiliate chambers host the event, which includes networking, coaching and mentoring sessions from their community’s most influential business leaders. The event is designed for women to find inspiration and guidance in their careers.
Pints & Policies
Similar to our Legislative Updates, Chamber members and the community are invited to join our elected officials to find out what policies they have been working on while enjoying your favorite pint at a local brewery.
Ankeny Celebrates Education
Ankeny Celebrates Education is an invite only event for the Ankeny Area Chamber to thank educators and staff for all of their hard work during the school year. Administrators, teachers and staff from the Ankeny Community School District, Ankeny Christian Academy, and St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic School are invited to participate in a great evening of food, fun, and awesome prizes.
Business Illumination Series
Every other month beginning in February
The Ankeny Area Chamber understands our role to help members learn, grow and prosper, which is why we host five membership luncheons per year. Each luncheon features a speaker who presents on a relevant topic. Before each program is the opportunity to network with other Chamber members.
Leadercast — Each year, Leadercast facilitates the largest one-day convergence of leaders in the world by creating an epic leadership experience.
Leadercast Women —This one-day leadership event featuring an all-women cast of speakers empowers men and women alike to be better leaders.
The Chamber, in partnership with the City of Ankeny and Ankeny Community School District, hosts Ankeny SummerFest. SummerFest is an annual celebration held the weekend following July 4th.
Chamber Spring Fling & Fall Ball Golf Outings
June & October
Both golf outings are held at Briarwood Club of Ankeny. Spring Fling is in June and Fall Ball is in early October. Both 18-hole tournaments bring over 150 golfers for an afternoon of golf, networking, and fun.
Corks & Caps: Iowa Wine & Craft Beer Festival
Become a wine and craft beer connoisseur by sampling a variety of beer, wine and food from local vendors while enjoying live music. Iowa wine and craft beer vendors participate in this highly anticipated event. Corks & Caps is open to Chamber members and the general public.
Chamber Travel Program
The Ankeny Area Chamber hosts one to two cultural exploration trips each year. This special opportunity provides a full schedule of activities.
The annual Discover Ankeny event showcases our area Chamber member restaurants and other local businesses through a community scavenger hunt. It is open to the public and teams can win big prizes!
